September News Update
September 11, 2020
Parents, Students, Staff, and Friends,
We are now three weeks into our 2020-2021 school year! What a week this has been! There are a few families that have been impacted by the local fires and parents that are helping to put them out! We hope all those involved continue to be safe until this situation is resolved. At school, this ongoing emergency has impacted the children. I did want to let you know that we do continuously monitor the air quality and unfortunately the children have not been able to go outside except for a few mornings at the beginning of the week. We utilize airnow.gov to get the most up to date information and will continue to limit outdoor time when it is appropriate to do so.
Next week our extra-curricular programs will be returning to the school for children three and older. Webby Dance Company will be holding class on Mondays at 2:30 PM and Soccer Shots will be begin on Thursdays at 2:30 PM. Both classes are held outside of your child’s classrooms and will practice social distancing and other COVID protocols. Please see our website for links for information and to sign up. There are also flyers available in the hallway by the Student Entrance and they were handed out in your child’s folder as well. Please let your child’s teacher know if you would like your child to attend a Free Demo session this coming week to see how they like it. Children will not be allowed to attend if you have not given your permission. Both of these programs are fun and exceptional, and we are glad they are able to return.
Speaking of your child’s folders, please make sure to check them on a daily basis. There are many folders that are getting quite full and so this indicates that parents are not getting all of the information we are sending out. On days when we do put something in your child’s folder, there will be a check mark next to their name on the sign in and out sheet. Hopefully this is helpful in reminding you to check it regularly. Please also remember to sign in and out when arriving and departing. We are several weeks into this session and so we will have to begin to charge the $10 fee going forward when you forget.
Lastly, I would like to thank everyone for fulfilling many of the items on the classroom wish lists. We are so excited to implement the new items into your child’s experience in their school environments. Please remember that we are also placing a Scholastic Book Club order on September 25th. I sent out an email at the beginning of the week and see that we already have many orders. For every book you order we get points to purchase books for the classrooms. Thank you for continuing to help enhance our programs.
Have a great weekend!
